The CW has chosen their Batwoman in the form of Austrailian model turned actress, Ruby Rose. The Orange is the New Black, Meg and Resident Evil actress will portray Kate Kane in the in-development series. If you can’t wait that long to see how everything will shake out – Batwoman will be appearing alongside some of the CW’s core shows during the Arrowverse crossover this December. The staunch defender and out character in DC Comics has become a beacon of hope for many in the LGBTQ community.

Although it was well publicized that the CW was looking for a member of the LGBTQ community to be the leading role, considering their history with shows – I was cautiously optimistic. Then word spread like wildfire today that the gender fluid actress would take up the helm. It was a refreshing choice. The badass, no apologies type of woman Rose embodies is a role model for the community as a whole.

Thankfully, should the in-development series move forward, as we hope it does, Rose is slated to continue with the role. That was also a concern here had here at Kimmie’ Corner. With someone of Rose’s level, would she be more apt to leave or be a short-term contract – but the answer has been clear.

As more information comes down the line, we’ll bring it to you here. Until then enjoy the official logline:
